Outsmart the Local Competition

Ever wonder why your competitor is at #1 while you are at #5? It's not luck. By "spying" on their profile, you can find exactly what they are doing better—and how to beat them.

The 3-Point Competitor Audit

1. The Category Secret 🔑

Sometimes competitors use a secondary category you missed. Hover over their business type on a desktop. Do they have "Wedding Photographer" while you only have "Photographer"? If it's relevant, add it!

2. Review Velocity 📈

Don't just look at their total reviews. Look at how fast they get them. If they get 5 reviews a week and you get 1, Google sees them as more "active."

3. Post Frequency 📱

Click on their "Updates." Are they posting every 3 days? If you haven't posted in a month, that's why they are winning the engagement game.

✅ Your "Beat Them" Checklist:

  • ☐ Find the Top 3 competitors in your area.
  • ☐ Note their primary and secondary categories.
  • ☐ Identify a service they mention that you offer but haven't listed.
  • ☐ Take 5 better photos than their best ones.
